Nightwork Audiobook 🎧 Nora Roberts
Harry Booth began stealing at the age of nine to help support his ailing mother, sneaking into luxurious, empty homes at night to find items he could trade for cash. When his mother died of cancer, he left Chicago but continued to work at night.
He takes on new identities as he travels from the Outer Banks to Savannah to New Orleans, remaining cautious, observant, and distant. He can’t afford to draw attention or become attached. Even so, he can’t help but relax his guard when he meets Miranda Emerson. But their strong bond will not last because not all thieves adhere to Harry’s code of honor. Some pay others to take risks in order to amass more treasures. Some are motivated by the desire to own people in the same way that they own paintings and jewels. After Harry accepts a lucrative job commissioned by Carter LaPorte, LaPorte sees Harry as a tool he can use and decides he wants to own him.
The man is a predator more terrifying than the alligators that live in the bayou, and when he coerces Harry into robbing a Baltimore museum, Harry abandons Miranda cruelly and without explanation, and vanishes. LaPorte, no matter what name he goes by or where he goes, casts a shadow over Harry’s life. To truly free himself, he must confront his adversary once and for all. Only then can he hope to have something more valuable than anything else he has ever stolen…

Nora Roberts
Nora Roberts (born October 10, 1950, in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA) was an American romance novelist who was one of the genre’s most successful and prolific authors.
Roberts was an avid reader as a child and frequently created her own stories. She married after graduating from high school and had two sons. During a blizzard in 1979, she was confined to her home with her young children and wrote her first novel, Irish Thoroughbred (1981). Following that debut, Roberts went on to have tremendous success with dozens of captivating romance novels. Her works were unusual in that they did not focus on glamour and money, but rather on characters who were relatable to readers. In 1995, she began writing romance-crime novels under the pen name J.D. Robb; her first novel in the genre was Naked in Death. Roberts, who was extremely prolific, kept a strict schedule of up to eight hours of writing per day, five days a week. She used to finish a dozen books a year, and in 2012, she published her 200th, The Witness. Roberts’ novels have been translated into over 25 languages and have consistently topped best-seller lists. Her books had sold over 400 million copies by the early twenty-first century. Many of them, including Sanctuary (1997), The Reef (1998), and Midnight Bayou (2001), were made into television movies.
